AbstractTermoDeck links the concrete floor in a building with its mechanical systems, creating a “smart floor” that can interact with its surroundings. This reduces the equipment needed to cool or heat a building and provides radiant comfort at conventional costs. An example of the Termodeck method used in a building is the Sheridan College Centre for Manufacturing and Design Technologies in Brampton, Ontario. The college was heated during the winter by lights, computers and the body heat of students.
