Vancouver 2010 Sustainability Principles

VANOC is applying sustainability principles to the planning, convening and legacy of the Olympic Games.
VANOC is the first Organizing Committee to commit to applying sustainability principles and practices _ such as integrated delivery of social, economic and environmental outcomes and benefits _ to the planning, convening and legacy of the Games. Detailed commitments to this effect were made during VancouverÍs candidatures and are incorporated in the Host City Contract with the International Olympic Committee. At VANOC, sustainability means managing the social, economic and environmental outcomes of the Games to create lasting benefits, locally and globally. It all ties into the the three pillars of the Olympic Movement: Sport, Culture and Environment.
